This is the perfect program for those who want to see the best that Lisbon and the surroundings have to offer but don’t have a lot of time.
We can start in Belem with the Monument of the Discoveries, Jeronimos Monastery and the Coach Museum.
Later you’ll drive down the Avenida Liberdade, the broad tree lined avenue that is Lisbon’s fashionable main thoroughfare. You’ll pass through the Rossio Square and the Baixa where streets are named for the crafts that were practiced there including Rua da Prata (street of silver) and Rua d’Oro (street of gold).
You’ll pass through the Praça da Commercio (Black Horse Square) enroute to the Alfama. (Lisbon’s old Arab quarter.) You’ll see the city of Lisbon laid out below you from St.
Jorge’s Castle that occupies the highest of Lisbon’s 7 hills.
Then we are off to Sintra. Sintra has long been noted for the beauty of its countryside. Visit the Pena Palace or Palace Nacional and the old town. Return to your hotel through Estoril & Cascais.
