The tour starts in Belém (testament to the days of the maritime expansion during the 15th an 16th century) with the Monument of the Discoveries and Jeronimos Monastery.
Later you’ll drive down the Avenida Liberdade, the broad tree lined avenue that is Lisbon’s fashionable main thoroughfare. You’ll pass through the Rossio Square and the Baixa where the streets are named for the crafts that were practiced there, including Rua da Prata (street of silver) and Rua d’Oro (street of gold.)
You’ll pass through the Praça da Commercio (Black Horse Square) enroute to the Alfama district. (Lisbon’s old Arab quarter.) You’ll see the city of Lisbon laid out below you from St. Jorge’s Castle that occupies the highest of Lisbon’s 7 hills.
